Kadyrzhan Khairulin

  • Kadyrzhan Khairulin, was born on the 26th of May, 1956, in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. Hailing from Kazakh heritage, Khairulin's journey in the realm of art has been nothing short of remarkable.

Initially embarking on the path of architecture, Khairulin pursued studies at the Faculty of Architecture of the Kazakh State Polytechnic Institute, eventually graduating in 1977 as an architect. However, his artistic inclinations led him to a different calling. He completed his education at the Art Department of the Almaty State Theatre and Art Institute, where he refined his artistic prowess.

A Union of Artists of the USSR and the Republic of Kazakhstan member, Khairulin showcased his talent on numerous platforms. His work graced all Union, republican, city, and regional exhibitions and symposiums, making a mark in the artistic landscape. His contributions were not confined to local spheres; his creative endeavours extended internationally as well.

Since 1994, Khairulin has been at the helm of more than 15 international projects, orchestrating the fusion of culture and fine arts in Kazakhstan. His visionary leadership has illuminated the global stage with the rich artistic heritage of his homeland.

Khairulin's artistic philosophy reflects his profound insights into the modern world. He once stated, "I came to paint a long time ago, and I think this is the quintessence of everything that can be in the fine arts." In his works, he strives to encapsulate the intriguing facets of a contemporary world in constant flux, where the encroachment of urbanisation increasingly encircles the realm of nature. This collision of human-made spaces and the dwindling natural landscapes forms the thematic core of his artistic expression.

His notable exposition, "Event Horizon," is a visual embodiment of the incessant daily turmoil that pervades modern society, often clouding the deeper purpose of human existence. This metaphorical portrayal resonates with those who observe his creations, inviting them to reflect on the cacophony of modern life and the pursuit of a more meaningful path.

Kadyrzhan Khairulin's oeuvre transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, speaking a universal language that engages viewers from around the world. With each stroke of his brush, he captures the dichotomy of contemporary existence, prompting contemplation and inviting us to re-evaluate our relationship with our surroundings and inner selves.
